October 12 – 22, 2018

  • Vote anywhere, anytime from a computer or mobile device;
  • In person on October 22 at any Voter Assistance Centre, using an election tablet; or
  • On a public computer at any Markham Public Library branch (during operating hours)

Vote in person using a paper ballot at any Voter Assistance Centre (during operating hours).

Part 1

Make sure you are on the Markham Voter’s list. CLICK HERE to check!

If you are already on the voter’s list, proceed to Part 2. If you are not, you must register online, at a Markham Public library or any Markham Voter Assistance Centre.

You will receive your Voter Information Package in late September which will include your online voting pin and all information needed to cast your ballot online. Please note:

  • You can still vote even if you did not receive a Voter Information Package – see Part 2 for details.
  • If you are unsure of how to vote online, please visit the Voter Assistance Centre on October 22 for assistance to vote online. An electronic tablet will be provided.

Part 2

If you are on the Municipal Voter’s List, then you should receive your Voter Information Package automatically. Just remember to login in with your pin from October 12 – October 22 to cast your ballot.

If you are voting at a Voter Assistance Centre from October 12 – October 19, please remember to bring your government issued ID or complete a sworn, written declaration at a Voter Assistance Centre using the government form. Link to form



You will need to go to a Voter Assistance Centre and bring the following items:

  • Photo ID
  • Proof of Canadian Citizenship; and
  • Proof of Markham residency OR proof of non-residency eligibility
